Where Donations Go

We have had some wonderful donations over the years. Here is a sample of where the money we raise goes…

Media Suite

In September 2020 we received £6,500 from the Clothworks Foundation to provide the pupils with new video and audit equipment. After the Media Suite was refurbished during the summer of 2020, we felt it was appropriate to also upgrade the equipment used as well.

Collingwood now has the latest in-studio video cameras, a fully digital multitrack recording studio as well as the hardware and software to support the teaching of media, sound recording and production, photography and much more.

As well as sound recording and production, Collingwood are about to embark on an ambient and electronic music project which they are developing with Newcastle University.

The Roundhouse and Forest School

In February 2020, we raised enough funds to build a Roundhouse in the grounds of Collingwood School which was completed in April 2020. The funding also enabled the school to purchase camping equipment, reindeer hides, bench seating and a composting toilet to further develop outdoor learning within the school curriculum. You can see the Roundhouse under construction above. This will enable the pupils of Collingwood School and Media Arts College to participate in Forest School.

Clark's Bog

We have currently raised £13,500 (£10,000 Morrisons, £3,000 Nineveh Trust and £500 Tesco Community Fund) which will be used to refurbish the visitors centre at Clark’s Bog and help build a third pond on the reserve.
